I am looking forward to the annual Flavor of Louisiana Seafood Extravaganza next Friday, March 15 in Prather Coliseum. This is the NSU Foundation’s largest fundraising event, and proceeds are used to support NSU’s highest priorities, including scholarships and academic support.
Thanks to a collaboration between the NSU Foundation and the Louisiana Seafood Board, you’ll experience an assortment of seafood dishes, alongside options for those who prefer other tastes. There’s something for everyone.
Join us as we welcome Lieutenant Governor Billy Nungesser as our special guest. If you have not already purchased your tickets, you may do so by clicking the link below. I hope to see you there when the doors open at 5 pm.
Congratulations to the Demon Battalion on planning and executing their very successful Demon Challenge competition last Friday. Now an annual event, the competition brings JROTC students to campus to compete in a series of physical and knowledge-based events.
Nine schools participated with 80 high school students competing. Not only is it an action-packed day for them, but the event is important for NSU and NSU ROTC recruiting. Thanks to MAJ Kegan Davis and all who worked to make this campus visit a fun and exciting experience, and congratulations to him on his promotion from Captain this past Monday.
I want to personally thank David and Sherry Morgan for their incredible generosity, awarding nearly $60,000 in scholarships to deserving students in the Morgan Extra Mile Scholarship Program. They’ve supported hardworking members of Sigma Sigma Sigma Sorority and Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity, along with first-generation college students.
The Morgans have also made a landmark donation to NSU Athletics, funding the new David and Sherry Morgan Health Performance Center. Their contributions not only help build facilities – but also help build bright futures for our students.
