Career Preparation That Meets The Demands Of The Workforce
Northwestern continues to focus increased attention on both the career goals and workforce readiness of its graduates at a time when business, industry and other employers need and require more highly skilled and adequately prepared personnel.
A degree from Northwestern has long reflected exceptional overall educational attainment and expertise in specific academic and career related pursuits. That has allowed our graduates to succeed in numerous and varied areas of the workforce for 138 years now.
The pandemic and all its related impacts on the economy and employment patterns have underscored the need for universities to provide graduates who are even more workforce-ready and attuned to the rapidly changing human resource demands of public and private employers.
Please keep these thoughts in mind when communicating with current and prospective students, business and industry leaders and other stakeholders.
Recruiting
The Office of University Recruiting is off to a dynamic start for the 2023-2024 academic year. Recruiters have visited a total of 220 schools, college fairs, and priority appointments over the course of the last four weeks.
NSU also hosted the Natchitoches Parish College Fair this week, giving hundreds of students in the parish equal access to postsecondary opportunities. Prospective students have expressed significant interest in NSU, and we anticipate capitalizing on these relationships throughout the year.
Purple Out / Family & Kids Day
The Demons play their first home football game of the season against the Cardinals of Lamar University tomorrow. Kickoff is set for 3:30pm.
The theme is Purple Out / Family & Kids Day. Be sure to wear your purple and leave the white and orange at home (at least for this game). Bring your families and children as there will be festivities around the tailgate scene.
Tailgating begins at Collins Pavilion at 12:30pm. This is a great opportunity for all Demon Fans to socialize with NSU colleagues, alumni, community members, and other university supporters. For special faculty-staff rates on tickets, please contact the NSU Athletic Ticket Office at (318) 357-4268 or visit nsudemons.com for more information.
