A Message From The President – August 11, 2023

The Fall 2023 semester kicks off with an exciting first day of classes on Monday. I extend my best wishes to all for a meaningful and productive semester ahead.

The time is here – Move-In Day is tomorrow! To facilitate a smooth transition, our office hours will be extended from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM on Saturday. This presents an excellent opportunity for students residing in the halls to address any pending university matters in the company of their parents or guardians. The majority of these offices can be found within the Student Services Center.

Offices open on Saturday include:

  • Admissions
  • Financial Aid
  • One Card
  • Registrar’s
  • Student Accounting and Cashier’s
  • University Recruiting
  • First Year Experience
  • University Post Office
  • University Police

If you have some free time Saturday and would like to help our students on Move-In Day, you can reach out to Campus Living Villages at 318-214- 5400 to volunteer.

The New Student Convocation begins on Sunday, August 13, at 5:00 PM in the A.A. Fredericks Auditorium. This event welcomes all new first-year and transfer students to Northwestern State University. It’s the official start of your academic journey.

Attending the Convocation is mandatory for new students. Please RSVP by Friday, August 11, in the “Alerts” section of your myNSU account. Following the Convocation, there’s the President’s Picnic at the Three Columns on Normal Hill.

To faculty, staff, and alumni, if you know potential NSU students, let us know through StudentLInk: https://nsula.formstack.com/forms/everyonerecruits. We appreciate your help in recruiting new students.

Wishing you a safe and successful semester.
