Northwestern State Greek Life Centennial Celebration

100 for 100

Purpose

The Northwestern State University Greek 100 for 100 recognition program recognizes distinguished NSU fraternity and sorority alumni for their notable contributions to the fraternity/sorority experience, the University, the community, and their profession. Inductees exemplify the ideals of their fraternity or sorority as engaged lifetime members of their organization. The first 100 inductees will form the first class for the future Northwestern State University Greek Life Hall of Fame.

Qualifications

Nominees are eligible if they are an alumna/alumnus of the Northwestern State University fraternity and sorority community (including chapters which are no longer active at NSU), have graduated with a degree from Northwestern State University a minimum of 10 years ago, and meet one or more of the following qualifications:

  • Involved in their fraternity/sorority locally and at the regional level or above
  • Has contributed to the University during their time as an alumna/alumnus
  • Involved in professional and/or civic activities
  • Considered a leader in their chosen profession

Note: Nominees should span the century of Greek life at NSU, therefore some nominees may be deceased but are still eligible for nomination and selection. As we wish to include all chapters in the Greek Centennial Celebration, Pi Kappa Alpha will be allowed to submit 3 nominees for consideration who have not met the 10 year graduation qualification.

Nominations

Questions about the application can be directed to greeks100@nsula.edu

Selection

All nominees will be reviewed by a selection committee who will assess the nominations based on the outlined requirements.  Those selected, as well as those who nominated them will be notified of their selection. Nominations will remain active for a period of two years (once a person has been nominated, their nomination will remain on file for consideration for the next year for the future Northwestern State University Greek Life Hall of Fame). At the end of two years, the nominator will be notified and given the opportunity to re-nominate his or her candidate. Additional supporting documentation will be accepted the second year of a nomination but a new nomination will not be required.

Recipients

100 individuals will be selected to be recognized as part of the Greek Centennial Celebration at Northwestern State University. A photo of those selected will need to be submitted for inclusion in publications and website. Biographical information will be comprised of information submitted in the nomination form. The first 100 inductees will form the first class for the future Northwestern State University Greek Life Hall of Fame.  Details for the future Northwestern State University Greek Life Hall of Fame qualifications, selection process, recipient information, and recognition will be developed at a later time.

Recognition

To honor these dedicated fraternity and sorority alumni, 100 for 100 recipients will be presented with a commemorative plaque, recognized at the Greek Centennial Gala, and featured in the Greek Centennial Celebration publication. Recipients will be listed in perpetuity on the Greek Life website and noted as 100 for 100 honorees on the future NSU Greek Life Hall of Fame.
