Demons Rally Past SLU to Extend Win Streak to Nine
What a night in Prather Coliseum! Although Isaac Haney tallied a career high in points, he saved arguably his biggest moment on the defensive last night.

Haney drew a charge with 3.8 seconds to play and hit the first of the Demons’ three late free throws as Northwestern State erased a double-digit, second-half deficit to rally past Southeastern, 81-76, in Southland Conference play, collecting its ninth straight win in the process.

The Demons cap their season-long, three-game homestand Saturday when they host New Orleans. Tipoff is set for 3:30 p.m.

Jerry Pierce Dedication
Last night at the thrilling come from behind victory for Demon Basketball, Northwestern State University honored the late Jerry Pierce by naming Section C of Prather Coliseum after the former vice president of External Affairs who passed away last November. Pierce, who once served as NSU’s Sports Information Director and whose administrative division included Athletics, served the university for nearly six decades, held season tickets in Section C and was a devoted Demon fan.

N-Side View Day
High school students from across the state will arrive on campus February 25 for N-Side View Day. Prospective students will discover student organizations, meet academic departments, and learn more about the admissions process with helpful tips and guidance from current NSU students, faculty, and staff.

It is our hope that these students will undoubtedly feel the infectious excitement and energy of a vibrant campus, making it an even more attractive destination for their academic pursuits.

Recruiting Receptions
The Office of Recruiting and Enrollment Management has conducted 12 recruiting receptions across the state of Louisiana and Texas. 300+ prospective students have attended these events, and we look forward concluding the recruiting tour in Bossier City and Natchitoches next week. Special thanks to staff, faculty, students, and alumni for their assistance in recruitment efforts on behalf of the university.

NSU Performs Litter Survey and Waste Audit
NSU is one of three universities joining Keep Louisiana Beautiful University Affiliates this year. University Affiliates educate, influence, engage, and inspire future community leaders to address environmental concerns like trash reduction and litter avoidance.

Faculty, staff, and students analyzed campus trash during the waste audit last week. This method helps NSU examine the campus condition so we can help eliminate single-use plastics, cardboard, and other recyclable or compostable products.
