I’m extremely proud of our university community for your dedication to both recruiting and retaining students. Your united efforts have not only enhanced our program visibility and streamlined the admission and enrollment processes but have also played a crucial role in supporting our students through their academic journeys.

Our Fall 2023 and Spring 2024 enrollment numbers have exceeded expectations, leading to an 8% increase in projected revenues. This realization strengthens our fiscal health, especially as we navigate the budgetary challenges that higher education faces across the state. This progress significantly reduces our dependence on reserve funds for operational expenses, marking a pivotal step towards financial stability.

Thank you for everything you do. Your commitment is the cornerstone of NSU, and I’m incredibly proud to stand with you in this journey as we continue to move this university forward.

Congratulations to the Northwestern State University Women’s Track and Field team for their outstanding performance in securing the Southland Conference indoor team title for the second consecutive year. Coach Mike Heimerman and his staff have played a pivotal role in elevating the Lady Demon Track & Field team into a consistent championship-winning program. Let’s uphold this spirit as we pursue excellence in all our endeavors.

The stage is set for an action-packed weekend at NSU. We’re hosting a series of home games that’s great for supporters, friends, and family. This weekend is more than just games – it’s a celebration of our athletes’ determination and the vibrant spirit of the NSU community. Come out, show your support, and be part of the excitement. Your presence plays a major part in the competitiveness of sport.

Also, this weekend – NSU will open its doors to 1,200+ visitors for N-Side View Day. This event is NSU’s top recruiting weekend, showcasing the university’s potential to prospective students and their families.

As we navigate the future of Natchitoches together, it’s crucial we make informed decisions that shape our community and its governance. With that spirit, Demons in Government invites you to ‘Meet the Candidates’ on March 2 at 6:00pm at Magale Recital Hall.

‘Meet the Candidates’ presents an opportunity for each of us. You’ll hear directly from the mayoral and council candidates, learn about their visions, and engage with them through a Q&A session. Admission is free and open to the public.
